Transient
Transient (2024) is a 10-minute hyperrealistic animation that follows Ada, an elderly writer struggling with a creative block. She begins training an AI using conversations from her more creative past, hoping to reconnect with her former self. As the dialogue with the AI unfolds—touching on memory, aging, and time—Ada’s body begins to undergo strange, internal mutations. The camera moves fluidly, like air, through the inside of her body, blurring the line between physical and digital space.
The story explores the fragility of memory in the digital age, as Ada develops a doppelganger who steals her voice and escapes with it. The sound design features a voice clone of Ada, and was created in collaboration with AI artist Ahnjili Zhuparris.
